Nativity scenes

The Carnival Masters’ Nativity – Former Church of San Francesco

In the historic setting of the former Church of San Francesco, discover a unique nativity scene with life-sized statues made entirely of papier-mâché. A captivating blend of Christmas tradition and the vibrant artistry of Fano’s renowned carnival float makers.

San Marco Nativity Scene – Palazzo Fabbri Cellars

Set in the beautifully restored 18th-century wine cellars of Palazzo Fabbri (entrance from Via Mura Sangallo), this immersive 350 m² exhibition features 45 intricate dioramas and over 500 handcrafted figurines illustrating scenes from the Old and New Testament.

Monument Video Mapping

Every weekend from 23 November to 26 December, Fano’s historic centre is illuminated by stunning artistic video projections.

Locations:

  • Daily: Arch of Augustus (the city’s ancient Roman gateway)
  • Fridays to Sundays: Arch of Augustus, Piazza XX Settembre, Piazza Amiani (front), and Piazza Costanzi

New Year’s Eve in Piazza XX Settembre – 31 December 2025

Epiphany Celebration – 6 January 2026

On 6 January, La Befana, the legendary good witch, arrives in Piazza XX Settembre, bringing sweets and surprises for children. With entertainment, live shows and music, the whole city turns into a festive playground for families.
