Italy’s Premier Non-Fiction Book Festival
Since 2013, the city of Fano becomes each year the vibrant epicenter of critical thinking during Passaggi Festival, the only cultural event in Italy entirely dedicated to non-fiction. For five consecutive days, over 300 guests – including authors, journalists, economists, politicians, philosophers, scientists, historians, educators, and artists – take part in more than 150 events spread across 13 enchanting venues between the historic center and the seafront.

The city turns into an open-air cultural lounge, accessible to all and completely free, where perspectives, ideas, and words come together in a space of open and barrier-free dialogue. From political debates to current affairs, investigative journalism to children’s stories, travel writing to scientific challenges – each talk offers a chance to see the world from different viewpoints, in a setting that encourages listening and meaningful exchange.
Passaggi Festival is not just an event – it’s an immersive experience that champions free and pluralistic thought, guiding audiences through a cultural journey that spans eras, themes, and sensibilities.
