Centrale Festival Photography

Founded in 2009 with the aim of spreading photography and contemporary art, "Centrale" reaches its thirteenth edition. During its first ten years, the exhibition welcomed various Italian artists already established within the artistic panorama and presented them to the public through an intense program of debates, conferences and guided tours. The locations of the exhibitions gradually set up have strongly characterized the exhibition programme, involving in particular some historic spaces in Fano such as the Rocca Malatestiana, which has become one of the symbolic places of the event. Since the eleventh edition, the formula has been renewed starting from the name, which has acquired the denomination of "Festival". Furthermore, starting from 2019, Centrale Festival is aimed at young international artists selected through open calls, thus underlining the organizers' desire to broaden the radar of interest and to carry on emerging research in close connection with the contemporary.
