From 30 May to 2 June, BrodettoFest returns: one of the most important food festivals dedicated to seafood cuisine and Italian seafaring tradition. An event that tells the most authentic identity of the city: its fishermen, its port, its fresh fish, and a symbolic recipe handed down through generations.
From the sea to the table: the history of brodetto
BrodettoFest is not just a food and wine festival: it is a journey into Fano’s seafaring culture.
Brodetto was born as a humble dish of the maritime tradition, prepared by fishermen using less prized fish or the catch left unsold after the day’s fishing. Over time, in Fano, it has become a true symbol of local identity: a simple dish, yet rich in history, telling the deep connection between the city, its port and the Adriatic Sea. Every family and every cook preserves their own version, making brodetto not only a gastronomic speciality, but also a symbol of Fano’s culture to be passed down and celebrated.

The National Competition of Brodetti and Fish Soups
A competition dedicated to professional chefs, freelance chefs and personal chefs. At the heart of the challenge is a recipe for brodetto or fish soup, which can be traditional, creative or completely original.
Brodetto Boat
Experience Fano from the sea with boat trips departing from the port. From clam fishing to lunches on board, moments of relaxation and the flavours of the sea, Brodetto Boat lets you discover the deep bond between the city and its sea.
Brodetto&Kids
The festival also has activities for children, with creative workshops, games, shows and experiences dedicated to discovering the sea and its inhabitants. A fun way to introduce children and families to the themes of the environment, sustainable fishing and food education.
Brodetto&Wine
Tastings and pairings designed to enhance brodetto and the flavours of the local area. An experience for those who love discovering Fano through a glass of wine, among sea, cuisine and conviviality.
Restaurants, Spazio Bro & Villaggio del Gusto
The most delicious heart of the festival: areas dedicated to cuisine, local products, tastings and gastronomic excellence. An opportunity to stop, taste and experience the atmosphere of BrodettoFest directly on the seafront.
Fano Marinara: a tour to discover the sea and local fishing tradition
Fano Marinara is a guided tour exploring the deep connection between Fano, the sea and the local fishing tradition. A route lasting about an hour and a half, designed to discover stories, places and curiosities linked to Fano’s seafaring life, among the port, fishermen and maritime culture.
